We offer a BA in 英语 with a Certification in Secondary Education. Take classes in the 英语与现代语言 Department and in the College of Education, 护理和卫生专业.

Our faculty are award-winning teachers and published authors who take an interest in your work and get to know you well in our small class sizes.

We offer two areas of emphasis to choose from:
The Creative Writing emphasis helps you learn good research, 写作, 编辑 and storytelling skills while producing your own stories, 诗, 戏剧, 评论和个人文章.

额外的需求
Students much complete one course focused on 英语 language, 编辑, 或者专业写作, or any modern language at the 111-level or above (FR, 蒙古包, ITA, 或水疗中心). Students also must complete an internship and Capstone course.

- Manifest an ability to read and understand a wide variety of literary texts.

Complete your undergraduate and graduate degree in just four years with our new BA in 英语 and 工商管理硕士 程序. This option is available to students in both the creative 写作 and the literature emphases. You take your undergraduate 英语 courses in the 文理学院 and complete graduate 工商管理硕士 requirements in UHart’s 巴尼商学院. - Courses taken in the winter and summer term as part of the undergraduate degree are offered at no extra tuition cost.

- You are not “locked in” to the schedule and can opt out of the 3+1 accelerated 程序 and change to a 4+1 model.

If you enjoy reading and thinking about great literature and 写作 your own essays, 诗, 戏剧, 和故事, then a minor in 英语 can complement any 程序 of study at UHart, whether you are in the College of Arts & 理科或其他学校. This minor will sharpen your critical thinking skills, and make you a better writer and speaker.
The general 英语 minor allows you to sample a variety of 英语 courses. You will take any six courses to fulfill the minor requirement.
